On #1, I've had users/clients who required the ability to open multiple preview forms...they might want a graph open and a report open. Obviously, something could be added to make that an option. (Yes, I agree, it could get cluttered if the user isn't careful)

On #2, that's an object reference to the form, in case you'd ever want to write code in the Crystal preview manager to deal with the form. (in the near future, I'm going to update the download project to show an example of this that relates to #1).

But if you only want your users to see 1 preview screen, and close it before doing any other work, then all you'd need would be Showdialog.

On #3, I never liked the appearance of their close button (nor the placement), so I set it to false, and I place my own button on the toolbar, to the right of the other buttons, and put in my own close logic. (I didn't do that for the article, but that's what I usually do)
