Kevin,
Thank you very much for your answers and thoughts. I really appreciate you taking the time to assist me. I will buy you a Guiness if we ever meet at a conference in the future <s>

Just two more quick questions:
1. Do you know where I can add code so that the built in close button works?
2. I am having problems getting the zoom to work propperly (I am using CR.NET if that makes a difference). If I set zoom = 400 I can see that it says zoom level is 400% or something in the statusbar of the control but the report is not zoomed, and if I set to zoom selector manually to 400% it changes the zoom of the report and the statusbar still says 400%. Any thoughts about this? (It isn't really a showstopper)

>On #2, that's an object reference to the form, in case you'd ever want to write code in the Crystal preview manager to deal with the form. (in the near future, I'm going to update the download project to show an example of this that relates to #1).

>But if you only want your users to see 1 preview screen, and close it before doing any other work, then all you'd need would be Showdialog.

>On #3, I never liked the appearance of their close button (nor the placement), so I set it to false, and I place my own button on the toolbar, to the right of the other buttons, and put in my own close logic. (I didn't do that for the article, but that's what I usually do)
