Terry,

I live relatively far south in Norway, 100km (65 miles) south of Oslo, but I can not tell you right now exactly how many hours of daylight we have. I guess the sun rises at about 9AM, and sets at 3PM, give or take an hour.

By the way, now it's 11°C, 52°F! Luckily I have AC in my car. <vbg>

It's rather poignant your mentioning the beach as I assumed that the reason why so many Swedes died in the tsunami was because up there they're more likely to seek warmer climes, to escape (what I assumed to be) the near permanent darkness.

>>please pardon me for jumping in. Every american thinks Norway is so cold, with polar bears walking around in the street and other wild ideas. Would you believe me if I told you it's actually 9°C (46°F) outside where I live right now? Of course it uses to be colder at this time of the year, but we have to enjoy it while we can. Bye, I'm off to the beach now, where's my sun glasses? :-)
