Hey Ladislav,
suggestion of some minor changes to take care of your problems:

1) If there are copy problems with 1250/850 tables (memo fields) - are you sure the old 850 tables are tagged with a codepage?

2) Why don´t you keep your tables in the same CP? If your old PRGs got problems with 1250, why not move everything to 850? VFP should take care of the CP!
