You may be right about the inf file...but unfortunately, it's a text file so it's tough to tell what "object #" is -- there are blank lines, etc. I'm pretty sure it's not the actual text line #...
One thing I've determined is that a lot of setup error numbers show the same fairly useless text message "your setup files may be damaged..." -- it would be nice to have a unique message for each number. Oh well, thanks, for your offer to help, but I solved the problem with reinstallation, so I guess I won't worry about the precise error diagnosis :)
