The query is a part of the process of populating a cursor. I want the user to be able to hit Esc and receive a question "Do you want to stop the process?". If the user answers "Yes", the process is stopped. If the user answers "No", the process continues. However, some commands may need to be re-executed in order to get the correct results. That's the downpay of playing with the keyboard. That's my standards of programming. Provide a user with as much flexibility as possible.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
