Just a regular index on Status.HomePhone would do the job. You can't create a primary index on it, since the value are repeated.

HTH

>I still don't know when can I use PRIMARY KEY, I would like to make a permanent relation in DATABASE using the phone number, for example:
>I have two files:
>Customer......................................Status
>name,homephone..............................homephone,status,date
>A 201---------------------------------------201 0 1-1-98
>--------------------------------------------201 2 1-10-98
>--------------------------------------------201 1 1-16-98
>B 203---------------------------------------203 1 2-10-98
>C 205---------------------------------------205 1 2-10-98
>D 112---------------------------------------112 0 2-16-98

>when I try to create the index on STATUS file, VFP says uniques of index on PHONES is violated. That means that I can't create a permanent relation?
>How I can do the permanent relation?
