Instead of:
MODIFY FILE c:\whatever.txt WINDOW W1
I typed:
MODIFY FILE c:\whatever.txt IN WINDOW W1
And that is why I was talking about the window W2 being too small to fit the contents of the modi file window.
If you include the word IN the scroll bars will appear every time, but it is probably the look you want.
I will look at the code you posted and this time I will cut and paste and not rely on my typing skills <s>
