>A personal observation: Presidents like Ford and Reagan worked well with Democrats to help advance our nation. Since Bush (The elder) took office, it seems like rather than politicians helping the people and the nation, it is more important to get your way and belittle the other guy. I do not consider this to be productive nor in the best interest of our nation.

>But you have a good point in your statement, "what else is new"? This negative activity has been going for so many years that perhaps people are willing to accept it as "normal".

>My least favorite president was LBJ. However, it is well known that he was able to bring democrats and republicans together as no other president, to pass his agenda.

True enough. I think your animus for the current president is simply a matter of your disdain for him. I was in the same boat when Clinton was president. After he left office, I could see a few things that came about while he was in office, but I could never pin it strictly on him. The economy was robust, but the Republican congress jammed tax cuts down his throat, which stimulated or helped stimulate the economy. There's no doubt in my mind that Ronald Reagan was the greatest president of our time, but then again - that's MHO!
