>>You know, what beats me most of all, is the fact that these sites and ads etc. get you SO MAD, that you're guaranteed NEVER to visit any of them - EVER, bercause of the pestering adware. So it's all counter-productive for them. It's like an ad on the telly that pisses you off so much that you'll never buy the product. I don't get it!

>I've thought some about that myself. I got a lot of American Express card pop-ups when I had my problems. I think it might be that they don't know in some cases. Perhaps Amer Exp agreed to a stupid contract that they never intended working the way it did. Something like a penny or even less for every pop-up ad that is determined (by the company they made the contract with's adware) to be the kind of customer they want to hit.

I never get bothered by Amex except, as their European HQ is withing half a mile of where I live, and parking is at a premium in our compact city (Brighton), their employees sometimes park in our street :-)

>Hey, don't people in the UK ever sleep? It's pretty late over there I would assume.

I think the UT clock is set at EST or something - not GMT. I left work by 18:00. I think generally we DO stay up later than you wusses though! :-)
