Hi,

I am trying to use a trick explained in UT to print to a USB printer from FP DOS app that prints to LPT1. Emmanuel Huybrechts gave a good explanation, which apparently has worked for others. The trick is given below. The problem is it doesn't work for me!

Am using WinXP. Have a Canon LaserShot 1120 printer on port USB001. I shared the printer per instructions and ran the NET USE command. The machine even confirms that LPT1 port is assigned to \\DellAlex\CanonLas, my machine and printer share name respectively.

What can be going wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Alex

If you are under WinXP or Win2000, you can do this :

1. Share your USB printer
2. Let's say that you Computer has a netbios name COMPUTER1 and the printer share is named USBprinter,
open a Cmd window and type this command :

NET USE LPT1: \\Computer1\USBprinter /PERSISTENT:YES
