Sadly, freedom from commercial taint was left behind by our universities around the time bloomers went out of style. They need money to survive and generally they take it where they can get it.

FWIW, Texas Womans University is not widely known and exists (if it indeed exists) in a state where manna is god and god is manna. I not only wouldn't be surprised if a Texas university issued a study favorable to local industries, I would be shocked it they didn't.
