Well I think flame burnt meat is bad - it's the burnt protein. Bread is pretty much pure starch (sugar). Burnt it's just charcoal, mainly.
Sorry but I REALLY DO LIKE IT.
But then I like PB and Jam ("Jelly" in the US). Our "jelly" is US jello. So we always cringed and felt a little ill when hearing about PB and Jelly - couldn't imagine how you'd could ever mix the two or stop the jelly soaking into the bread!
Pretty much everyone I know grew up on school lunches that were PB or V sandwiches plus an apple or an orange.
Bonox, not botox, ROFL. Anyway it's like a sloppy marmite for putting in soups or some brave souls actually just add hot water and drink it like tea.
"Coffee, tea or bonox?" was a common phrase.
>>We all like our Vegemite here (in fact I had some for breakfast on toast not one hour ago. Lovely. The secret is a good coating of butter on the toast, real butter. And it helps if you burn the toast a little, that way you can't really see the vegemite :-)

>Or taste it! I suppose the bitterness of the burnt toast hides that of the V. Admit it. You don't REALLY like it then. (PS they say burnt toast is carcinogenic don't they? - so eating V may do more harm than good) :-)

>>But Marmite ! That stuff tastes lousy. Nobody (well almost nobody) likes it here! Ditto for Bonox

>Marmite, along with Agar, as I remember from school biology, was just something to grow bacteria cultures on.

>What's Bonox? Thought that was something ladies had injected to get rid of wrinkles :-)
