Offices will always have :
>1. Desks/Chairs/Phones
>2. PCs
>3. Printers
I don't know - near future - for sure - but all that hardware is so bulky. Someday all will be connected through a VM engine.
We won't key a plastic keyboard on an office max desk inside an office max cube , or answer a lucent phone. Every thing will be virtual. The keyboard the phone the desk the cube. At first it will be high resolution wide screen gogles, proprioceptive gloves (maybe even digital feet to scoot the trash bucket) and a head set (with optional "smell" and "physics" engine) - eventually it will all be jacked directly to the noodle.
We would not even need to drive to the office (wee, I don't do that now - anyway), we would just plugin - and do it virtually.
In fact - in the future - wealth could be measured by the "luxury" level of the virtual reality licenses we acquire!
Gota stop - someone is at the door - I think they're saying, "Hello Mr. Anderson.", I better go see who it is!
Imagination is more important than knowledge
