MS Tech support apparently advises that before using the Setup Wizard on a new project always DELETE the DISTRIB directory (yes it's the one under your VFP directory) AND DKCONTROL.* in your "files for distribution" directory, AND BOTH COPIES OF WZSETUP.INI. One is in your "files for distribution" directory and the other is in the VFP directory.

I envy you David...
I looked at TechNet and it talked about how this could happen if you were creating a win95 distribution and you were using long file names for your .exe. I downloaded / applied the patch, but still not change. This occurs whether I'm creating a winnt/win95 or just a winnt distribution.

I've followed your directions both with the MS update applied and without it. (The update consists of replacement WZSETUP.APP and COMPRESS.DBF files.) In both cases, I get the same failure. I think that I'll try to build a distribution on a win95 system and see what happens.

This is getting very frustrating!
