dont use XML if you have lage datamanipulation and performance problems in the netwerk(lots of aditional overhead)

it might not be foxpro SQL Server but the hardware
sometimes a swich or a cabel or the networcard generates problems

check if there is any other software like excange on the server.
sometimes Excange eats all the memory and the fresing is the generation of temotary Memoryspace on the harddisk !!!!!!! (taht kille one of our projects at a client)

increase memory ub to 4 GB or eaven more

we dit install 16 GB in a server and uses a Ramdrive software for the data.
Check ramdrive in the net(Test it for free). Speed goes up up to 6 times when running a querry when all date is in ram. the users are very much surpriesed.

Problem the server must support 16 Gig Ram (Xenon mashine)no pentium 4

especial older cabes and handmountes wallsockes shcoul be checked carefully

try to update to Gigabyte lan if possible (mutch faster)

regards Dirk

we do large ERP as well
