Acceptance is a motivation for all people. Its very genetic. If we stray too far from the pack, we don't survive.

Alot of us find that acceptance in family and friends.

But some of us have led lives that consist of going to work and coming home to watch TV. I don't think anyone will deny this happens probably more frequently in modern societies than any other in history. There are basic human needs that aren't being fulfilled in those lives. The internet community, including web logs, is a natural attempt to over comes the symptoms of this.
