>It's gotta turn around, but these people can do unimaginable damage to the world before it happens.

>Of course having the media in their pocket (for the media's own selfish reasons, not because there is some kind of pact) makes even seeing the true problem far harder. The media may not lie, but it sure can deliver only what is suited to them, in a way that best accommodates their own interests.
>The neo-con politicians do lie, but their doctrine says that's all well and good and "legal" when it's done for their greater objectives. A liar can never be trusted to tell the truth, but one has to recognize the lies before that can be enacted. Presently far too many people believe that politicians wouldn't lie, and most especially those professing deep faith so frequently.
With the majority of people believing that there's no morality outside of religion (which was one of the primary matters in my disupute with Doug Dodge few years ago), they have a carte blanche to do whatever they want, and the people will think they must be highly moral when they are oh so religious.
Look at the "culture of life" mantra that they're enforcing last few weeks. This comes from a guy who took no more than 20 minutes to decide to sign each of 152 orders to perform the death sentences. And this discrepancy goes unnoticed by the majority.
Can't resist to quote George Orwell: "Have you forgotten doublethink?". It really takes that sort of mental discipline to believe in one thing, and refuse to see whatever doesn't fit it.
