It may be that the grid builder you have, hasn't set the column widths of the columns and they are all set to width of zero. This will cause the look of a black line at the left and the rest as a white screen.

As you can stretch or shrink any column by clicking on the right side of the column in the grid header, click the right part of the header black line and stretch it to the right... Then repeat with other columns if this is the case.
