Hilmar,
I have bought the printed book from Amazon, through an american friend, because Amazon does not ship to Romania. I can easily guess why :(. Anyway, I bought it because the biggest issue a VFP programmer has is he has a VFP frame of mind, and .NET is completely different. I was stunned to find that in .NET all classes are inherited from a single class, for example. Overall, from a VFP programmer point of view, Kevin's book is excellent, because it keeps comparing the .NET techniques and concepts with VFP's ones. That makes learning .NET a lot easier. On the other hand, even the book explain both VB and C#, my oppinion is C# was slighly favorised.

>I am quite interested in learning .NET - the work market seems to require lots of .NET programmers. I should quickly add that I am not going to betray VFP <g> - I will probably continue working with it for many more years, but I do think I must learn additional technology.

>This book looks very interesting, especially since it compares .NET to something I know relatively well: VFP. But I am also seriously considering to register in a course, which starts next monday - learning a new technology on my own, without help from an instructor, might be very challenging.
