I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything more from MSFT on this problem with running Compiled HTML help from a network location. We have a lot of customers wondering about this and the work arounds just aren't all that practical...

You've to find out what value works for you. Keep in mind that you may open a security hole by setting those values too high.
