>>>>That's true, but it's a rarity that all things are ever equal. Talent will out in the NBA regardless of size. And really, I think that was the original point. Since it's rare that all things are equal, you pretty much never have a 'black and white' situation. Usually just shades of gray.

>>>I don't know about that. I think GMs of NBA will give every chance for the taller/bigger player to succeed before looking at a shorter player. If you're "short" by NBA standards, you have to be significantly better and work harder then your taller counter part to get an equal chance.

>>Yeah, look at the various stiffs employed around the NBA over the years just because they're 7' something.

>But the 'stiffs' never lasted. Only those with some real talent stayed around. Same with the short guys. Calvin Murphy didn't make the hall of fame by being 7' tall. Muggsy Bogues was only 5'3" but stayed around for years. In fact the first time I saw him on a court before a game, I thought to myself, "Oh, look, somebody brought their kid. Isn't that cute."

Shawn Bradley. Need I say more? ;)

I could never understand how he stayed around so long. At least with someone like Manute Bol, they could block shots.
