You're positive? All the ex-military coming out against Rumsfeld because his micromanaging has caused untold deaths. As well as lengthened how long it will take for Iraq to become safe, possibly by decades.

You mentioned Iraqi children. I heard someone who was in Iraq for the attack on Falujah discuss the devastation that occurred in that city. Actually ex-city as it has basically been completly destroyed. I'm sure there's lots of children there who's life we greatly improved.

What exactly do you think we've accomplished there? Inquiring minds want to know.

>I'm positive we did the right thing... no question in my mind. We (and I mean "the coalition" we) gave them a legitimate opportunity at freedom. What they do with it and where it takes them and how long it takes them to do it is anyone's SWAG, but at least they now have the opportunity. I can't speak for them personally, but I have a feeling there are many countries that would love to have a similar chance to extricate themselves from underneath their own Saddam-like oppressor.

>When it comes to Saddam I say, "Nine-eleven, schmine-eleven." Apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned. I don't even care if he had no ties whatever to that day. Saddam is one of a handful of truly evil men of the past 50 years. Just for gassing his own people -- something I seem to remember was called "ethnic cleansing" when Milosevic did it in the 90s -- he should have been removed. And shame on the world for taking oil bribes and looking the other way for 11 years while Saddam systematically raped his country.

>>If you are so concerned about the state of Iraqi children, then why are you sure that what we did there was the right thing. It's getting more obivous by the day that the purpose for the Iraqi invasion had nothing to do with 9-11. That is was a forgone conclusion that some felt Iraq needed to be invaded so a democracy could be established in the region.

>>To say that strategy has been a dismal failure is a gross understatement. And from stories coming out of the region, there are more deaths and far more instability in the Iraqi citizens lives now then ever before.
>>
>>The list of ex-military commanders calling for Rumsfeld's resignation is growing everyday.
