The salary depends on the job, the area you are assigned to, the amount of responsibility, and the risks. Typically 80,000 to 190,000/yr. Most plainclothes police officers there for training purposes look at 150,000-178,000 a year. I wouldn't consider that job for less than 13k a month. That job is not quite as risky as some of the others (relatively speaking of course since everything over there entails risk) because most of the attacks are outside the training areas. Then there is the question of the amount of responsibility - supervisors and team leaders make more, etc. The pay is alittle less for Afghanistan but from what I've heard, the security is better, the support is better (there's been more time to iron out the wrinkles), and the working conditions are better as well. The international support onsite is much better for Afghanistan of course. Keep in mind that in Afghanistan really only Kabul is secure. The Prime Minister is operating more like a mayor still.

>>My ex-husband went to Kabul for DynaCorp. He was in charge of the security team for the Ambassador until he suffered an aneurysm and had to return to the states for open heart surgery. It was all tax free but there was a LOT of political crap to deal with over there. We know quite a few over there working for them now and many in Iraq as well. Our area has a large number of police who have gone to Afghanistan and Iraq too. Do you know other officers who are there? If so, I would definitely contact them and find out the REAL deal. If not, let me know and I will put you in contact with some I know.

>Yeah, I've got several friends who did it. One in particular said it wasn't bad. I think she was in the training area though. What kind of tax free dollars are we talking about? I've seen 150k on some stuff, but I haven't heard anything back from my inquiries yet.
