>>First, I support your business and I respect your right to do as you see fit. I believe in capitalism completely. I also appreciate the content of this site. Thank you for making it available over the years.
>>
>>Having written that, I disagree with your latest statement. While I think it is reasonable to restrict vulgarity and personal attacks against a person (race, creed, color, sex, religion, political affiliation, et al), I think the subject matter should be open as the section is indeed labeled 'Chatter.'
>>
>>No one has to read every message in Chatter. No one has to read every message in the technical section either. Chatter is not the technical part of the forum and one would expect a 'Chatter' section to be just that: chatter. If the chatter section bothers someone, they can simply avoid it. If someone's posts bother them, they can twit them. After all, you made that service available to paying members and if someone really wants to filter out specific messages then they should be expected to pay for the priviledge.

>>Also, this is beginning to sound just a little too much like Big Brother Michel. After reading the two pages of rules for this site, I believe the majority of your active members (not the minority) have broken a rule or two over the years and most likely it was unintentional.

>In regards to how you see the Chatter forum and categories, yes, you are right. This is exactly what it is right now and accordingly to the rules, as is we are all ok with that, as long as it does not violate one.

>But, over the past weeks, we have seen a pattern in how the Chatter forum and categories are being used. And, because this is harming the good running of the site, based on several issues we have observed, one of the counter measure could be to remove the Chatter forum completely. But, this is not done yet.

How has this affected "the site?" Can't we just turn off what we don't like? I haven't heard a whisper from Peter in a while now, and it's nice. No banning needed. If you don't like what's on the station, turn the channel.
