I admire you attitude, but
National Health is a whole 'nother tax. You'll pay that whether or not your pay income tax.
The social benefits you'll pay for you will never receive -- welfare, housing subsidies, the UK version of social security, etc.
I lived in the UK for may years and have lots of friends there, but I've met very few of UKers who thought their tax system was reasonable. Frankly, I'd pay that kind of tax only when someone held a gun to my head, and not a second before. :)
