The point I was trying to make was that American politics seems to misuse and abuse examples of other countries to scare off voters with straight out lies to prevent them to choose for the other side. The dutch euthanasia claim was an extreme example of that, and very simular to the debate about the liverpool death pathway: It does not have anything to do with facts, but everything to do with fact free politics.
