>>Would that be the benefits cut out by Bush?

>>Are you trying to say that Obama did not cut any military benefits? Pointing the finger at someone else does not negate any of Obama's actions. Heaven knows, after 6 1/2 years in office, Obama is still trying to blame Bush. While there is plenty of blame to go around for both parties, I wonder when Obama is going to grow up and take some responsibility...

Hmm.. I hate to disagree, but Obama et al signed on to sequestration willingly.
Many lib's (including me) wanted deep defense cuts, but knew that specific cuts would never be passed because of the local opposition to base closing, plant closings, etc.
Sequestration was the next best thing.
I'd have liked to see defense cut by 20% but half a loaf is better than none.
Any time congress wants to increase funding for medical care for vets, it can and I'd support that.
But we should be getting rid of planes and tanks, not building new ones.

The real reason that vet med care is so awful (I can attest first hand that it is) is that there are too many veterans because of the US' bellicose foreign policy in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The Iraq war strained a VA system that was already strained by Vietnam vets approaching old age where costs skyrocket.
The Bush administration never asked for budget increases or tax increases to fund the Iraq debacle and Obama's misadventures in Syria are being funded by equally vaporous sources.
There can't possibly be enough money left over for a GI with a medical problem ten years from now.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
