It is a network connected printer. No print server just TCPIP port. The remote computer used to be a windows 7 64Bit and report printing worked fine. But I was able to install the windows 7 driver using an exe. It seems the driver for 2008 has to installed through windows. The printer is a Brother MFC-8460N.

If it is connected to a computer, which computer is it connected to? If network, is the printer and server connected up on the same LAN w/o having a router/bridge of some sort between the two?
