I read a review of the Samsung....yes, the reviewer raved about the display. HP's also has a very bright display

The build on the HP is very solid, IMO. At 3.26 lbs it's heavier than an iPad and even a tad heavier than the competitors. At first I didn't like using it as an iPad. But I found a nice thin leather folio case that makes the "sitting on the couch, reading PDFs or books as a tablet experience" much better.

The Samsung you got is an i5, 4 GB, correct? I went with the i7, 8 GB HP model...really needed it for my SQL and SharePoint VM. Were it not for needing VMs then an i5 would have been enough for me.

But anyway, for anyone looking at getting something along these lines, the HP will not disappoint. I just did a Win 10 upgrade and it was flawless and seamless.
