Full ACK. While Java eco system is not only bigger, but the offerings are usually supported by larger groups: this gives you stability and safety from abandoned projects (at the cost of sometimes slower development). Java as a language has fallen behind C# rather sharp ;-)
Integrating dynamic languages like Python into a an app of mostly statically typed code felt to me cleaner in C#, but that might have been "tainted" by growing up in languages where a distinct linking step was done after compiling. Although the (very limited!) debugging experience I had in multi-language apps with both settings, the Java one was easier for me as everything was based on the java stack,
