Excellent points.

The obvious, however, gets to be the assumption (that's the way we do it) until someone shows us that there's something better.
The fact that the world was flat did not have to be proven then.
It had to be disproven, and it was.
Now the fact that the world is round has to be disproven.

I have never seen proof that the average man hits a golf ball further than the average woman. It just makes sense to me based on my experience.
That has to be disproven to me, not proven.

I've had some experience with handling and firing high powered automatic weapons.
Based on that experience, I won't go near one if I can avoid it and I don't see any possible reason that anyone would want one around, except to kill other people.

That's the fact that needs to be overturned, not the fact that needs to be proven.
