I think that Access controls are native windows controls, since Access forms have window handles. They don't have the .WHEN and .VALID events. I found that Access .OnExit and .OnLostFocus events wouldn't fire reliably if the control was in a subform (kind of like a grid but more flexible) and I clicked on the main form.

So, if I understand you correctly, they left it like that in order to give us a better event model. I suppose that it is that way in the first place because Fox Software developed FoxPro Win 2.6 that way?
