>Well, I think most of us FEEL this way, but when i'm trying to rationalize, I can get any clues of proof that it works this way. I suspect that we are blinded because of the past we carry along. I don't say that naming conventions never was a Good idea, but in the world of OOP, NON strict typed languages and the ability to use long variable names, it seems to have lost it's added value.

>Walter,
I believe that adding structure adds value. Any naming convention would therefore be better than none. As for any "best" convention, that would be a compromise between what would be good for computers to analyze and what would be easy for humans to read.
