I just started using a DSNless connection with SQLSTRINGCONNECT(). I tested it out on a remote computer going through a 56K modem and it worked well so I got rid of the DSN in ODBC setup. Now, if I'm not using a DSN, how do set things like the Network Library, Port No. etc?

Also, and this may sound stupid, how did it find my server when I specified the server by its name? How did it know the right IP address to go to?
