>I have tried in vain to solve a problem I've had since installing SE on a Compaq 450/128 - I installed IE5.01 at the same time, so I'm not sure where the blame lies. I get intermittent "hangs" fairly often.

Sometimes IE never does open, and Task Manager says "not responding." What could it be doing for all that time? (there's no drive noise or anything)

Using NAV? The best thing I did was uninstall that sucker. I was trying to apply some updates to IE5 and it would always fail until I disabled NAV. I finally just uninstalled it until I was through installing everything [I had to reformat, reinstall Win98 SE, etc.]. Its been a helluva 2 days. Our System Admins also got a Win98 SE patch for the shutdown problem we had been having as well. It's in e-mail to you.
