Windows API functions

>>Hi Erik, just a SWAG, but what about changing the return value of InternetOpen to LONG. Since you are passing in the return value of this function to the next one, maybe it has something to do with it.

>Good guess, but it makes no difference.
Ah well, so much for the easy answer :)
>Actually, I am finding that it never makes a difference. As George pointed out earlier, our integers seem to be long anyways. They are 4 byte right, and the LONG used in the DECLARE command is supposed to be 32 bit (=4 byte)? Anyway, I tested on some other API functions, and it looks like they are completely interchangeable.
I saw George's post. I wonder if the LONG designator is just an internal alias to the INTEGER one for completeness or something.
Good luck with the WinInet thing, I am out of ideas, so I am sorry that don't have anything more to add.
Best,
Bill
