Your Main Program and how you handle controls is a little confusing. And I am a bit confused now. Do you have CLEAR EVENTS in the top level form? In my best capacity to understand what you said, you didn't have any (CLEAR EVENTS) because you are using the same routine or event in closing edit forms as well as main form, right?
>This I do from the application main form. But the edit forms are called from that form and when they are released, the application should not exit (that means the main form is still open).
Can't you not distinguish what control is handling your main form?
>It looks like so: the main form is always open (as long as the app is running) and from there you can call many edit forms. You can close the application simply by closing the main form. When you close an edit form, only the edit form is closed, but not the application.
It should be. So you closing edit forms should have different routines in closing the main app.
>When I close the main form, it automatically closes all edit forms and that's no problem.
