>Thanks for expressing your felt experience. In my experience I've found Evan to be helpful, curtious, friendly (gee..he's starting to sound like a Boy Scout) and a positive addition to the UT. This does not in any way attempt to invalidate your expressed feeling it's just that my experience has been different and I wanted to say so.

This isn't about who is nice and who isn't. I'm sure that Evan and Michel both, on a personal level, are very friendly people. I don't want anyone to think that this is a personal issue.

>Again, I've never felt ignored here at the UT by Evan or Michel. Perhaps they may not respond as you would like or as fast as you would like but ingnored.... I don't think so....

I'm sorry, but you are in no position to tell me that I'm not being ignored. You don't see what is sent back and forth (or, more appropiately, what is not). There is a difference between replying to an email and replying to an issue. And I am not the only one here trying to get something done about this. If you read back throught the UT Chat - Revisited thread you will see mention of other people (by other people) who have never received replies to email. If I have ever had account problems, they have replied quickly, but this is much different.

>Understood and I'm sure this can be frustrating. Perhaps we should think about this.... have the presenter make a document presentation..... have those interested in the subject read the doc and prepair questions for a scheulded chat a few days after the doc is presented.

You are missing the point. Anyone at anytime can flood the channel with anything they please, because there isn't anyone there with OP status.

>And your investment is ________ ?

I had a PUTM for awhile. I let it lapse because I didn't feel that it did any good. No, in your little research about me you won't find those details because the account name was different.

>Since January, 2000 you've posted 99 messages.
>30 of them had to do with the chat situation
>30 are some kind of reply and
>39 are questions that you asked.... and probably recieved answers too! < s >

No, I haven't always gotten answers off of here. But that isn't the point either. I spend my time on the IRC server. That is my contribution. That is where I discuss issues. Just because YOU don't use IRC as your primary resource doesn't make it any less important or the UT any more important. The fact is that Michel offered it as a service. It is being used constantly (by a small group, but yes, constantly) and is some people's preferred choice of accessing the UT.

>I have never waited over one day for a response to ANY problem that I've presented to either of them.

Good for you. But this isn't just about me. It's about everyone who uses the IRC server (and the UT since the current configuration of the IRC server is a security hole).

>Not sure about the "blindly" but your comment brings to mind this thought.... Why not write a config file for them? If you really want to help?

Have you ever ran a production server in your life? You never EVER use someone's configuration file that you don't understand. I am not going to be held accountable for any problems caused just because they can't RTFM or let someone explain it to them.

The term "script kitty" (or kiddy, if you prefer) comes to mind.

>This series seems to be new and they are trying to get all of the kinks worked out. I'm sure that they welcome constructive comments and all the help they can get.

I'm sure they love you speaking for them. Maybe if they would start speaking for themselves a little more, we would be in this mess. Have you been reading these posts? Cause you seem to be missing the point that the reason we continue to post about it is that they aren't doing anything about it.
There weren't any kinks before they started screwing around with the server.

>You have a perfect right to your feelings and opinions but choosing to be a part of the problem and not offering any real solutions does no one any good and does nothing to solve the problem and I'd bet that you would prefer to be a part of the solution! < s >

Could you explain to me how I'm part of the problem? I don't harrass people on IRC or flood the channel during sessions. I have offered time and again my help with this IRC situation. I have experience with IRC servers.
So if you could shed a little light on how I am part of the problem, please do. I don't consider making a problem know being part of the problem.
