It uses DDE to communicate with the Program Manager window (which is invisible under Win32). It's also the reason it can't create a desktop shortcut itself.
Yeah, John likes to do that. But there's usually something to it. As for the desktop shortcut, I HATE it when applications create those (without asking, of course) As if, just because I want to run the application, I want it in my face all day! (whew, I guess Vent got set on and I didn't notice <G>)
BTW, I don't remember hearing, are you coming down to Orlando? I'd like to meet you face to face someday and even buy you a nice tall dark beer!
