>My father owns a manufacturing company in New Jersey. His MRP system is on an ancient HP 3000.

Gawwwd, another HP3000. Like Dos programs, they are everywhere - Corporate America's dirty little secret.

>I finaly talked him into going into client/server, and he converted his payroll and accounting system based on SQL Server 7.0. I sent him the link that you posted. Does this sytem scale to client/server?

I believe they have a version for SQL Server 7.0. At least that's what is says on the box. It also claims to support Crystal Reports and COM. Guess I should open the box and check it out. Actually, they are just a 15 minute drive from my current contract (I should bill them for this post < g >). Come to think of it, over the last year I noticed a few manufacturers post contract positions on DICE for VFP developers having experience with this system.

>Do you know know of other MRP systems?

Most MRP systems live in the big-iron/big consultant/big $$$ SAP type space. However, if you search the Web you could probably find others for small to mid-sized companies.
