Hi Alex,

Why are these conversations so hard for me to avoid? <g>

>I've been wondering about this for the longest time. If cholesterol comes from eating meat,

I don't think this a scientically proven fact. Our diet has changed dramatically in the last 125 years. Refined carbohydrates (flour & sugar) are considered by some to be major contributors to cholesterol. And, just because there is cholestoral in a specific food we consume, does not necessarily mean we will absorb it into our system. The other foods we eat have an impact...and our body has the ability to create cholesterol (at least that is how I understand it).

>how come cows don't have the problem? They're all made up of the meat that has the high cholesterol content. ;-)

A point worth considering. The cows have cholesterol, and they eat grass (and no meat at all).

>But then, I don't think humanity has seen a cow die of natural causes (heart attack, stroke, etc.) in at least 2000 years.

so true :)
