Hi Allan,
>>This doesn't have anything to do with VFP - but I thought I'd post the question here anyway - in case this has happened to any of you.

I just started my 'vacation' a few days ago - hoping to spend a fair bit of time on a pet project I have started - with VFP 7 - on my home P.C. - running Windows 2000 and Windows ME (dual booting).

Anyway, got home Friday (the P.C. is left on all the time) and had a black screen with the text "Disk boot failure - insert system disk and press enter".

Luckily I brought the laptop home from work and have spent a fair bit of time reading about this error message - but I can't seem to figure out if this is a hardware issue - or some type of virus that has been the root of the problem. When I boot from the system disk - the computer still does not see the two hard drives in the box.

I'll likely have to take the *&%^%@#@* P.C. in to be looked at - but short of that I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of things that I could try first to see what has caused this to happen ...<<

I had the same problem happen on my old 333 PC. I use to keep it up all the time also. About a month before it died I started having some problems out of it and it seemed to crash a bit more often. I then got the "Disk Boot Failure" and it would not reconize either of the hard drives. Finally it wouldn't even fire up. We think the power supply was on its way out. It was an older PC so I just replaced it and restored my data.

Hope you have better luck then I did.
