>My 2 cents -- The only problem with MS aquiring US Govt would be the precipitous drop in MS stock value by taking on National debt. However, with Congress abolished, value should regain quickly enough to repay the debt. Since it would no longer be a democracy, Uncle Sam, oops, sorry, Uncle Bill could default on the debt and make all the Savings Bonds, T-Notes, etc., worthless.

I suppose that if M$ goes on to buy the governments of Canada and the nations of the European Community, he would use his market dominance to put all the others out of business. Meanwhile, users of some of the smaller applications in the suite, like, say, Belgium, would find that they were getting less support, and rumors would circulate concerning the eventual demise of these supposedly redundant products. No offense to Belgians intended :-)

These extended M$ metaphors can go on forever :-)
