The VFP report designer is not a good tool for this kind of stuff. You may have to use Word automation or Crystal Reports.

The biggest problem is the white space in a letter when a field has little data in it, but I have to leave the field wide enough to accomodate for the possibility of larger data in the field. It's been a long time since I've done letters using vfp's report writer, so naturally I feel like a moron!
