I take it that you are using the standard Combo Box that comes with VFP 6.0

Do you have the Atkins/Kramek Kilofox book? In that book Marcia Atkins had developed a Combo Box that I found worked better in a Grid than the VFP 6.0 standard.

As I recall the VFP 6.0 standard combo box had trouble with holding its colours whereas the Kilofox combo box was much more stable. I have never had problems with the Kilofox Combo Box inside a Grid.

I should comment that I have stopped the practice of overloading my grids with stuff like combo boxes. As a standard, I no longer permit editing in my grids. Instead, I give them an button that takes the row of the grid and puts the fields into Edit format. Here you can have combo boxes, links to Calendars, option groups etc. in a much more stable environment that seems to be easier for the operator to complete. The edit screen has "Back" and "Next" buttons so they can stay in the edit environment as long as they want.
