>Those who are satisfied with MS can certainly go down that MS-centric route. However a *lot* of the FP people I used to know are now firmly in the Java/Delhi/Kylix/Linux camp. From there, the level of bitterness toward MS and negative comparisons with their new vendors, would worry me if I were the target. It is hard to imagine that those expressing bitterness toward MS in UT today will meekly move into dotNET, there are *lots* of ex-FP'ers to welcome people into the alternative camps, but what would I know.
Why be bitter towards Microsoft? I generally like their products, although I have not worked with Linux/Java/Oracle, etc. VFP is a great product. It was great under Fox Software, but even better under Microsoft. I also really like SQL Server.
>FWIW, I think dotNET *will* succeed. It will struggle to match Java/Linux because they're "ahead full steam" while dotNET has had a stumbling start. but once we see frameworks etc, IMHO dotNET will be a much easier and viable option for VFP'ers who want to move on. Today it's a bit of a struggle.
