>>Why be bitter towards Microsoft? <<
Come on, we regularly hear bitterness that somebody lost a deal or had a "hard sell" because customers heard the word "foxpro" and did not judge on merit. I had that happen to me for the first few years when I started the business and boy, did it hurt- propelled me from FP into Java FWIW. In Java I found wide acceptance from customers although the few products we delivered weren't a patch on the FP versions, but that's a different story.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
