Hi!

See notes below...

>>>It's not that I mind terribly that the wish has been edited and placed on the Europa wish list, afterall, the addition of the NODRIVER clause would remove the necessity to re-save existing reports. What is annoying is that no one from the UT bothered to tell me this was being done or asked my permission.
>>
>>It is mentioned at the top. Since two weeks, based on MS's resquest, we are removing/arranging duplicates and some other related actions like that. That could include taking a comment on one wish to decide to create a wish on its own, assuming the comment should be a wish. Or, it could mean that one wish be moved as a comment to another wish assuming the other wish is best to be kept and a common in it would be better. Some other variations are also applicable. We just follow our guidelines and we indicated it at the top. Vlad has done some extensive work on that in two weeks. And, we are extremely happy with that work including comments from MS we already received about it. Additionnaly to Vlad and the MS team, Jim, Nadya and other UT members also participated in a lot of enhancements/fixes in the actual data. If something, or if you think something is wrong here, you may address directly to Randy as MS.

Certain wishes contain a few features requested. Some of them are implemented in VFP8 beta and some are not - I call them "partially implemented" wishes. What I'm doing is just remove part of the text containing features implemented, and leaving text with other features. Sometimes I make some adjustments to preserve general logic of wish content and change title to be appropriate/more redable (I met a wish with title "Add", that of course does not fit into any meaning of a "proper" title for wish :-).

If you think some your wish is completely implemented, you can remove it any time you want.

>As I recall (and since I can't see my original post, I have to rely on my recollection), my wish was in an "and/or" mode. So from my POV, it was granted.

>My point wasn't the wish itself, but that I don't like getting credit when I don't deserve it (See MESSAGE#730090).

I did not create a new wish entry for this - it is the same wish#620, but just changed. Below is from changes log:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wish#620:
Changed because partially implemented in VFP8 beta.
Changed text from :
--------
It would be helpful to allow us to indicate that the printer driver information was not to be saved. This would eliminate the need to open it as a table and delete the information. Additionally, a NODRIVER clause to the REPORT FORM... command would allow us to use existing reports without having to remove the driver data.
--------
to:
--------
Add a NODRIVER clause to the REPORT FORM... command that would allow us to use existing reports without having to remove the printer driver data saved within report.
--------
Changed title from "Report Designer option" to "REPORT FORM command new option"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can make your own changes as you wish.

As you see, you deserve it! :-)

>I'm not going to remove it at this time, however. Toledo is still being prepared for release and until it is, I think it's premature to try to determine what's going to be in the product and what isn't in some cases.

Well, the request was to remove all wish entries that are implemented in VFP8 beta.

>An example of the is another report command clause. I'll pose you a question. Can we now (in 8.0) suppress the display of the printing dialog so that reports can be printed from an in-process server?

The feature for this is added in VFP8 beta (NODIALOG option). The fact it does not works in the in-process server is recognized as a functionality by design by MS VFP team. I can point to appropriate post in newsgroups. Too sad. I also think this functionality should be added.

BTW, in case of something, I have a complete log of all changes, as well as a backup of first 1000 wishes I made at the moment review is started. Any change could be reverted. Log file will be accesible for public community for review. I understand I can misunderstand something or make mistakes, or just do not know something - any comments/corrections are welcome.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
