> Ultimately, playing around let me create all the links except one. And I don't understand it. There are three tables related in this link. I can link the left table with the center one (field to index), or I can link the right table with the center one (field to index) - but it won't let me do both at the same time. And yet, the same relationship exists between other tables in the same Data environment. Is Visual Foxpro 5.0 buggy in this sense? For some of the other links, I tried the exact same drag-and-drop procedure repeatedly; the first 10 times it wouldn't allow it (circle with slash through it), but on the following try, it did. No indication whatsoever as to what made the difference.

Daniel,

In the DE you are creating relationships for the way teh dat will look in the form. Only one table can be the "source" of teh relationship because only one table can be selected. For your three table relation you have to choose the table that will be the source of the relation, that is the one you will be moving in and then originate the relations from there.

Assume we have TableA TableB and TableC, the relations would be like this;

TableA -------->> TableB -------->> TableC

The relation you described in your message was;

TableA -------->> TableB <<-------- TableC

That one won't work.
